The Cité de l’énergie visit (approximate total duration of 4 hours) includes :

  • The Science Center (approximately 2 hours, depending on each individual’s pace) which includes two permanent exhibitions – “Planet Energy” with its multimedia immersive show and “Canada in the World” from the Jean Chrétien Prime Minister Museum, the temporary exhibition and the Hydro-Québec observation tower. (See descriptions of activities below)
  • The hydroelectric sector, free of charge, offered by Hydro-Québec (approximately 2 hours, with outdoor portions and mainly done on foot), which includes the tour of the N.A.C. Power Plant and the Shawinigan-2 Power Plant, which is still in operation. Visitors will be transported there by land and river shuttles. (See descriptions of activities below).

In addition to the main attractions, the City of Energy offers a variety of additional activities that visitors can choose from “à la carte” : the city tour, the cruise and the outdoor shows.
