Exposition temporaire : Drave dédrave – Ramener l’équilibre

La drave fait partie de notre identité collective. Que reste-t-il de cette époque? D’anciens barrages, ponts, billots échoués; des traces qui parfois bouleversent l’écosystème. Au parc national de la Mauricie, une vaste opération de dédravage est en cours pour redonner sa place à la nature. Venez découvrir le travail méconnu des dédraveurs dans cette exposition familiale interactive qui vous transportera dans le monde fascinant de la restauration écologique. L’ensemble de l’exposition a été conçu dans un souci de développement durable.

L’exposition Drave Dédrave — Ramener l’équilibre est une production du Musée Boréalis en collaboration avec le parc national de la Mauricie (Parcs Canada)

Expo-film Natakam

Natakam – Sur la rive est une création de la Cité de l’énergie qui vous transporte au coeur de la drave et de la vie riveraine des communautés Atikamekw de la Mauricie avec une exposition et un court-métrage diffusé sur écran géant.

La Saint-Maurice (Tapiskwan Sipi) est une rivière emblématique qui traverse la région de la Mauricie du Nord au Sud. Au fil du temps, la rivière connaît de multiples usages.
Elle est une source de vie et d’inspiration depuis des milliers d’années. La rivière marque le paysage, l’histoire et le développement de la Mauricie. Natakam fait découvrir cet important cours d’eau à travers deux vécus distincts mais historiquement liés ; celui de la communauté Atikamekw et celui de la drave.

Présenté en collaboration avec :

  • Le Musée de la civilisation du Québec, le Musée POP et le Musée du Premier ministre Jean Chrétien (prêt d’artefacts)

The Cité de l’énergie’s permanent exhibition, Planet Energy, invites people to become aware of the delicate balance between nature, energy and human society on a planetary scale, thanks to more than 20 interactive stations! It’s a dynamic exhibition that takes a fresh look at the energy and climate issues that are already dominating world news.

The multimedia show : The Planet Energy Experience is included as part of the visit to the permanent exhibition Planet Energy at the Cité de l’énergie.

As soon as you enter the room, the enigmatic flight of energy particles will lead you into an immersive multimedia environment where energy is presented as a powerful phenomenon, both mysterious and familiar. Striking and multisensory special effects quickly plunge the spectator into the heart of the Sun, the primary source of Earth’s energy. In this fantastic journey, the spectator will discover new manifestations of energy and their impact on a planetary scale.

Hydro-Québec Observation Tower

The Hydro-Québec observation tower, a symbolic attraction.

You will continue your visit by taking a panoramic elevator to the top of an observation tower built from an old Hydro-Quebec power transmission tower. At 115 meters, it’s the second highest observation tower in Quebec.


An evocative symbol of electrical energy, this tower is the trademark of the Cité de l’énergie. You will see the beauty of the Mauricie landscape and the quality of Shawinigan’s urban environment. During this visit, you will discover the history of Shawinigan’s urban and industrial development as well as the built and landscape heritage found within the city boundaries.

The Prime Minister Jean Chrétien Museum: Canada in the World

This historical and political exhibition highlights Canada’s role on the world stage through hundreds of gifts received by the Honourable Jean Chrétien, former Prime Minister of Canada, during his term of office. The exhibit also includes interactive kiosks, video presentations and a physical replica of Mr. Chrétien’s office in Ottawa.

Duration: 30 to 90 minutes.


NEW : A SECTION ABOUT ALINE CHRÉTIEN, FIRST LADY.

In June, the City of Energy will inaugurate a brand-new section dedicated to the First Lady, Mrs. Aline Chrétien. This new exhibition area highlights Mrs. Chrétien’s involvement in the community and her contributions to various political engagements and meetings she has participated in.
